In Wirecard’s Issuing division, I supported a critical project to resolve balance deviations across prepaid, debit, and credit card portfolios as transaction volumes surged with company growth. These mismatches between cardholder ledgers, processor records, and settlement accounts posed both financial exposure and regulatory risk, requiring swift resolution without disrupting live transactions.

I designed a structured investigation framework, partnered with engineers to reconcile systems, and conducted root cause analysis to distinguish between timing mismatches, integration errors, and operational gaps. To ensure long-term resilience, I documented controls, authored SOPs, and trained staff on monitoring tools, escalation workflows, and risk triggers.

The effort restored balance accuracy, reduced financial exposure, and significantly improved detection speed. By embedding documentation and controls into daily operations, the team gained the ability to manage issues independently and proactively.

This project became a formative experience early in my career, teaching me precision, transparency, and operational resilience under pressure. The lessons I carried forward shaped how I later approached large-scale migrations and payment rollouts, where structure and control are just as vital as speed and scale.
